What these terms mean

Two things get billed in this ecosystem: your Connected Ecosystem membership, and any partner membership that an outside provider owns. Here is the plain-language version.

Connected Ecosystem billing
Anything the Connected Ecosystem collects directly — your monthly or annual membership and any one-time activation payment. These appear on your Connected Ecosystem receipt and can be managed from the member hub.
Provider-billed membership
A membership provided by an outside company. The provider sets the price, collects the payment, and owns the terms. It is never part of your Connected Ecosystem charge unless the plan says the membership is included.
Optional External Membership
The partner membership is available at this membership level but is not part of the plan. If you want it, you enroll with the provider and pay the provider directly — enrollment and monthly membership both.
Enrollment Included
The one-time enrollment fee for that partner is covered inside your Connected Ecosystem activation payment. Ongoing monthly membership is still billed by the provider.
Included While Active
The Connected Ecosystem covers this benefit for as long as your membership stays active and in good standing. Nothing is billed to you by the provider.
Included for One Year
The benefit is part of an annual package for twelve months from activation. After that period it renews at the then-current terms or becomes optional.
Optional Add-On
You can add this membership on top of your plan. Where the amount is set by the provider, the provider shows it before you pay.
Activation payment
A one-time amount collected by the Connected Ecosystem when a plan begins. It covers the items listed under that plan's activation inclusions, which can include a partner enrollment fee.
Travel community of choice
The travel membership you select during activation. Each travel option (for example a business pack or a founders pack) is one choice inside the same travel membership slot — you hold one at a time.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the activation payment and when do I pay it?

    The activation payment is a one-time amount collected by the Connected Ecosystem when you start a membership that includes it (for example Legacy Monthly). It is charged with your first payment and covers the items listed under "included in activation" for that plan, including any partner enrollment fees noted there.

  • How is monthly billing different from annual billing?

    Monthly plans are billed by the Connected Ecosystem every month and continue until you cancel. Annual plans are billed once for twelve months and can include partner memberships for one year as part of the package. Some partner memberships are included while your monthly membership stays active, while the annual package includes them for a full year.

  • Who collects my travel membership payment?

    Your travel community of choice is a separate membership. Unless your plan states that enrollment or membership is included, enrollment and ongoing monthly membership are billed directly by that provider under the provider's own terms. The provider always shows those amounts before you pay.

  • What happens if my membership lapses or a payment fails?

    A failed payment moves your membership into a grace period. During the grace period you keep access while you update your payment method. If it is not resolved by the end of the grace period, member access is restricted until the balance is settled, and any partner benefits that depend on an active membership may end. Partner memberships billed directly by a provider are governed by that provider.

  • Can I change plans or my travel community later?

    Yes. You can upgrade or change your plan from the member hub, and you can request a travel community switch for review. Amounts already collected for a completed activation or annual package are applied as described in your plan terms.
