Principles
- Human oversight: a person reviews AI-assisted output before it is relied on for a decision affecting someone
- Accuracy: AI output is verified before publication or client delivery
- Fairness: we review AI-assisted workflows for disparate impact and correct issues we find
- Privacy by design: personal information is minimized before it reaches any AI system
- Accountability: named owners are responsible for each AI-assisted workflow
Prohibited uses
- Fully automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on an individual
- Generating content that impersonates a real person without written consent
- Submitting client confidential information to systems that train on customer inputs
Vendor review
AI providers are evaluated for data handling, retention, training practices, security posture, and regional availability before adoption, and reviewed periodically thereafter.
